West Indies slumped further as they ended the second session of Day 5, 3rd Test at 146 for 6 against Pakistan at Roseau, Dominica. West Indies lost a couple of wickets – that of Vishaul Singh and Shane Dowrich – both falling to Yasir Shah, who now has four wickets. Hasan Ali and Mohammad Aamer were the other wicket-takers. Roston Chase has once again played well. He registered his second fifty of the match and remains unbeaten on 66. Jason Holder too is still at the crease batting on 22. Pakistan are just four wickets away from winning the series, which will be a perfect send off for Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq, who are playing their final match for Pakistan. West Indies began the session at 73 for 4. They were soon reduced to 93 for 6. But this partnership between Chase and Holder has still kept West Indies in the match. However, they will have to bat one entire session, if they are to save the match and deny Pakistan a win. This partnership between Chase and Holder will be crucial. They have added over fifty for the seventh wicket. There’s not much batting to come after this. Pakistan will be happy with their performance in this session, but they will look to get an early wicket in the final session and then wrap up the match soon after that. West Indies were set a target of 304 after Pakistan declared their innings at 174 for 8, thereby taking a 303-run lead. West Indies in reply to Pakistan’s first innings score of 376, scored just 247 and as a result conceded a 129-run deficit.
On Day One, West Indies won the toss and elected to bowl first. West Indies did not make any change to their XI, but Pakistan brought in Hasan and Shan Masood in place of Shadab Khan and Ahmed Shehzad. The three-match series is level at 1-1.
